Hi All,

Currently working on the main mast, still trying to work out the best way to have the mast lights working. Options are to use the 0.5 LEDs or fibre optics Also I’ve need to make a master for the Abbey Hill UAA-1 radar base. (Photo 3)

Slow going, I’ve got to do some casting of fitting but it’s a bit cold.

Hi Detomo,

I’ll be using Scalelink RN Photo etched stanchions.

Detailing the bridge section

T888 · « **Reply #58 on:** November 22, 2025, 03:29:55 pm »

Making the main nav light housing on the bridge wings, just need to mark up the light slots add the LEDs plus lenses

T888 · « **Reply #59 on:** November 23, 2025, 04:20:26 pm »

Installing the LED bus bar for Nav, Bridge and mast lights. Doing this before to much detail is added.

The LEDs can and will be removed to allow painting.

I love the way you deal with all the electricals on all your models David - just so neat & tidy, a crackin job

Cheers,

Ray.

Thanks Ray,

Yep I do like to have the wiring tidy. Over the years I learnt to plan out and number the cables so they can be easily identified. So any faults can be traced.

Update working on the main mast lights,

By using 2.5mm O/D plastic tube and filling a slot in the tube I’m able to feed the 0.5mm LEDs in to the tube.

Dave,
Could you not cast a brass tube inside the Abbey Hill as these are a known weak part and vert easily damaged.

Hi Bob,

Short answer is yes, however the casting resin I’m using has a good tensile properties.
