Whats the best method and solution/equipment for cleaning your finished model either for making it look its best for an exhibition or  when you bring it back from the lake after an attack by the canadian geese or the local park wood pigeons.

Danny,
Not really any 'best' method, only what's 'best' for you  Depending on the level of 'ducky-do' at your sailing site, some soapy water ought'a work just fine.  Wipping it down, on site, is good.  Then wash it at home.  Windex in a spray bottle seems to work fine for me (lazy).
Cleaning for an exhibit?  Beats me, never built anything that would stand a chance anyway, so a little dirt wouldn't hurt at all.

I always take a spray bottle of fresh water with me (salt water boating lake) to rinse the hull off at the lakeside, and top sides too if it's a windy day.  I use a 1/2" paint brush to brush around deck fittings, props, rudders etc. then plenty more squirting and a final quick wipe down with 'blue roll' paper towel.
