Wiring two speed controllers
« on: August 09, 2026, 11:48:37 am »

Hi, can anyone please let me know the best way to wire this up. Please. I have one speed controller for the motors and I need a second controller for the water pumps. How do I wire these for the BEC system and also so there is no interference at the receiver. Thanks.

The best way is a dual esc or replace the pump esc with servo & two microswitches.
All in, a higher current dual esc from an Aliexpress shop will cost about a tenner with free tracked delivery in about a week.
This is just one.

To get to the 20,30,and 40 amp escs, navigate the page, scroll right and choose a preferred battery connector.

I've used two batteries on occasion but made up a Y lead when there were 3 ESCs. Just remember to remove the red middle wire to the RX from all but one ESC otherwise you will get problems with the RX.Also I number the ESCs. The one with the BEC to the RX is always 1. Switch this on first and off last to prevent an ESC being live with no signal from the RX.
Happy sailing

Hi All,
The ESC from Aliexpress (question for Invincible) does it allow full power in both forward and reverse directions? In the past I've had Chinese ESC's that would only deliver 80% forward and aroun 20% in reverse, at these prices for a twin ESC (never used one of these either) has to be worth a go. Thanks in anticipation.
                Cheers,
                     Pete.  :-)) :-)) :-))

Yes, they do.
If you scroll down on the link page then expand you will find a comprehensive specification guide for the 5 to 50amp models. It auto sets the 100% point  so long as the stick movement makes the Rx output span at least 80% of the legacy standard RC servo signal of 1.5mS +/- 0.5mS @ ~ 50Hz.
They have a little switch to allow mixing or independent throttle. Leaving the 2nd channel disconnected makes the two outputs identical, as if Y-leaded at the Rx.

Before anyone suggests the interference problem is related to BEC, it is not. Even disconnecting both becs to use an Rx pack would not have cured the past submarine problem. It was documented by terry1956 on another forum of which I was not a member.
The interference-like problem only affects the two interconnected ESCS because the Rx and the Rx outputs are not affected as would be the case in true radio frequency interference. So if a rudder, or hydroplane servo, or an esc that is fed by another battery misbehaves it is rf interference. But if the problem only shows on the ESCS connected together then it is as my past diagrams on the subject: noisy motor current is allowed to leak into the thin black (or brown) of the esc 3-way cables to confuse the escs.
I was told by a member of the model submarine community one of the cures was to replace the susceptible esc pair with two of my mine. They were designed to extract an intermittent signal from constant backgrond signal noise. {-)
