Well said Fastfaz. My good lady, (long suffering), who has an A-level in latin translated ' utrinque paratus' as 'ready for anything'.

I completely endorse your comments about Martin, who is much valued and cherished, by all of us Mayhemers.

Cheers to all Mayhemers, and go well,

Forum not displaying properly in Firefox
« Reply #1677 on: February 28, 2026, 03:37:31 pm »

Is anyone having an issue with Firefox not displaying forum pages graphically, i.e. it's all line by line.
Mine started this yesterday and I gave up after 30 mins turning to MS Edge (which I hate).
Any pointers would be appreciated.

I'm using Firefox with no problems at the moment. Have you tried clearing the Firefox cache and maybe the cookies?

I don't like Edge either!

Hi MIke,[/size]      Spot on it's the Regimental motto of the Parachute Regiment my old outfit. Take care and stay safe everyone.                Kind Regards,                       Pete.

Hi Fastfaz,

I had the pleasure of meeting members of the Parachute Regiment at the London 2012 Olympics, (was it really almost 14 years ago!).
The security firm G4S, had, how can I put this, over-promised and under delivered, so the military were called in to provide security.
My daughter had volunteered, and was a member of 'Danny Boyles Pandemonium Drummers' for the Opening and Closure ceremonies.
The drums were a job lot of plastic buckets from B&Q, and the costumes were from Primark. During the Olympics she was a volunteer steward, and visitors always obeyed instructions because she was accompanied by a large bloke in a maroon beret.

I generally went along at close of play, as living in North London I could get HS1 direct from St. Pancras to Stratford. Then it was on to the Railway Tavern Stratford for a few scoops. They were from 3 Para, and had just got back from Afghanistan, I couldn't really comprehend how they could just go from Afghanistan to an East London Boozer, let's just say that there were some epic 'lock-ins'. After the Closing Ceremony it was an 'all-nighter'. So, I got the full Olympic experience for no money, and the years have just rolled by, great days!

Best Regards,

Mike

Martin....a minor issue not found before

Log on to "Show unread posts since last visit' as normal, can read all  or just a few new posts

if you need to log out, then log back in again, and ask for 'Show unread posts since last visit'.....result = no unread posts

Prior to this, the only posts left displaying were those as unread....or you had not opened

No big deal, as they can be found in the listing of all posts

MS Outlook on Google Chrome Martin..........

This lost unopened postings to the best of my memory via twice daily log-ins, only occurred during/after the last system outage   %)

Maybe we could ask dodgy geezer the same question?

Steps to Clear Cache in Chrome
Desktop (Windows/Mac/Linux):
Click the three dots  in the top right.
Select Delete browsing data (or More tools > Clear browsing data).
Select a time range (e.g., "All time").
Check Cached images and files (you can uncheck browsing history and cookies if you only want to clear the cache).
Click Delete data.

To clear your cache in Opera, press Ctrl+Shift+Del (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Del (Mac) to open the "Clear browsing data" menu.

Select "All time" as the time range, check "Cached images and files," and click "Clear data".

... Well it turns out to be Google causing the issue!   :o

There is so much data within Model Boat Mayhem, that Google spends hours & hours, every day, trawling the site and trying to catalogue / indexing it all !

Working on fix.   :police:

They are not that on the ball, this forum appears to be running on SMF 2.0.19 The 2.1.x series of the forum software was released in Feb 2022 and the current stable release is 2.1.8 and they are well into creating version 3.So no, in my opinion, if they were 'on the ball',, this forum would be running a current version of the forum software. Who knows what other nasties are lurking in the SMF software that is currently running and what problems have been fixed in later versions ?
