Hello from New Member

Hello everyone!

I have just joined the forum! I am relatively new to boat building but not new to modelling. Over the years I have build literally hundreds of small (plastic) model kits, around 12 or 13 RC cars and 14 or 15 RC aircraft, which were a mixture of kits and ARTF models and one or two built from plans alone. Having taken a break from the hobby for a number of years I started building model boats/ships about a year ago. My current projects include an Artesania 'Cutty Sark' wooden kit (static), 1 1/72 scale 3D printed Landing Craft Tank (similar to the amazing one on display on Southsea promenade) and a 1/96 scale 3D printed Type-45 Royal Navy Destroyer. Like many modellers I also have a number of kits in storage ready to go when I finish the above!

I am using the Type 45 to cut my teeth on scale details, and in particular working details (radar, moving guns, and so on). I also have an interest in programming Arduino modules and will later be integrating these into some of my models with some associated electronics hopefully.

I am delighted to join the forum and, whilst I have a fair amound of modelling experience already, I am always learning new things from others, so looking forward to connecting with you all.

Patrick.
