Well I have just done my last race for 2009 OMRA sesion at Bristol yesterday.
Sad to say my boat is in need of replacing now. We have had lots of fun together and I know there are many photos of her here and on the OMRA site and of course MODEL BOAT Magazine.
She is going to a good home.

Have now completed the strip down on the Makara and swoped all the engine , Radio over into my new boat.  I have one or two small jobs to complet, then I hope to get her in the water very soon.
My New boat is a Stelth made by John Smith from OMRA & i am hoping she will go as good as Johns boat dose.

It will certainly stand out  :-)) :o :o

You might have put some decent lettering on - like BOSE or TANNOY  {-) {-)

Cheers

Were JBL [JB Lansing] speakers used by Fender in their guitar amplifiers from the early 1950's to current date?....Derek

Pass on the above. However I only use JBL speakers on my sound system here at Unicorn Sound. Hence the stickers on my new boat. Years of trying loads of other speakers I found them the best.
As for my boat It is LIME green The flash on my camera has made it yellow. Yes it should stand out on the lake. I wanted a Red one but this and a pale blue colore wah what John had already made at the time. ;)

No is the short answer. I saw John at Bristol and he had the hull on show there. As yet I haven't seen it run.

Thanks to Darren at MK MBC I got my boat in the water today. It ran very well. One or two bits to do but overall it was a successful 1st run.
Willen lake is quite large but with little wind the water was very flat. The next thing is to see how it rides over choppy water.
In General I am a Happy bunny and with just a few things to work on over the next few weeks.
Yep he :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Sorry to busy driving her to get any pics. maybe next time.

Well done Bill, I'm sure we'll have some choppy water before the season starts  :-))
Is it faster than the "Unicorn" or are you running in a new engine?
Cheers

Hi Danny.
It is the same engine as the Makara. I'm am not sure how fast it was as Willen is a large lake and difficult to judge. I should have put my GPS unit in it to check it out but I was just happy to get it on the water. Maybe next time I will track her speed. With a few modes it should be good.
See you at the AGM Sunday

Hi . This mad Makara driving is taking a working hol in Cyprus. Back Sunday.

Have a good time - again  <:( <:(

The great thing about racing against others is that you COULD only be doing 20 mph, but as long as the rest are only doing 19 mph then all is well  :-))
Better than chucking money into finding that elusive 1 mph on a GPS  %) %)

Cheers
