Anyone heard of this.
« on: December 08, 2007, 11:18:09 pm »

Hi, all. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or dealt with "VLADYKA".  I heard of this company on the internet and found their website. www.vladykamodels.net/shop
They are Czech and offer a kit "sea star" which seems to be a reasonable price, large and a simple enough build for me to improve from standard.
I know that hobby store advertise this kit, but we all like to try to save our pennies. ;D ( so we can buy more boats)
Maybe one of you have made one of their boats or know of them.

Hi Surabaya.

Firstly have you taken into acount postage packaging and customs duty when you do your pricing. i have been caught out before.

Secondly,
Try to send a private message to Umi, he may have heard of them.

Also if you can change the title to
"Anyone heard of VLADYKA" you are more likely to catch the pople who have heard of them. As a lot of us on here don't read all posts.

Good luck with your hunt.

A guy in our club has built one of their models - it was OK as far as I know.

Thanks, I found a shop that has the Vladyka "seastar" on there lists near me, I think I am going to give it a try.
At £60 for an almost 900mm cruiser, I don`t think its bad , but it may need improving. Then again, that is what makes for an individual boat.

60 quid seems very reasonable.

If you would like to see it

http://www.hobbystores.co.uk/2005/FS_Main.asp?SelectedTab=030

I don`t think that their picture helps to advertise it.I think that it could look good with some work and not look so much like a toy

Looks fine to me. Add some paint and it will be fine.
