:D you could be very right, my opinion of Ethos is from hearsay (what my clubmates comment on it. They use it, not me, so hearsay). I did not intend on degrading Ethos or Edge.

1967Brutus, No de-grading taken. Radios and operating systems have become a very personal choice matter. Whatever works for you and gets you byis great! Having been an analog-er until 5 years ago, I undertook the challenge to learn more than logging onto the internet. I haven't gotten a lot farther, but my models appreciate it.... :}

Radio master t16   Open source.  Really good, but it does take some getting used to.
Great choice  - I've got one of those running OpenTX set up as Mode 2  (throttle left )for my Quadcopters and one of the original  Frsky Taranis X9D's (first batch) on Mode 1  (throttle right) which has always been my fixed wing planes radio. What Tx mode do most boaters tend to use?

I use Mode 2 on all my Txs, specially the Robbe F14 Navy as its twin throttle sticks are on the left by default. My other twin stick Tx is the same.

Using an FRSky Tandem X18 - superb piece of kit early to use - with XJT module for legacy support - I have to say I find Ethos a lot better than Edge/Open TX -its more intuitive and works better in conjunction with a PC - the down side is that the RX's are a tad expensive

As champ driver knows from another thread, i am currently using FrSky..  but i started with futaba, now own several Robbe F series, as well as Radiomaster.  I don't use Spektrum.  Friend who loves them (spektrum) has me set them up for him.  He has gone through  4 of them now, each either coming from the factory with issues that had to have warranty repair, or they will no longer work with newer receivers, so he either has to hunt for older used receivers, or buy a new radio.

Not to say other manufacturers aren't doing the same thing.  The newest FrSky radio i have will no longer work with 70% of the FrSky receivers i own.

Have you tried a XJT model for legacy support for old FRSky receivers - I am using some old V8FRII RX's with this module - they work perfectly - however - you don't get Telemetry back to the TX

Do they have an Ethos TX setup simulator tool yet as per Companion TX for Open and EdgeTX, the absence of that at launch was what meant I would not adopt it early on as I did with the early Frsky radios.
