Couple of Updates.

Traders welcome - Come show and demonstrate your products. ( No trading but fulfill and tatake orders etc. )

BRING, BUY & SWAP...... basically anything you want to chance your arm on but Model boat usually goes down well at a model boat show!

Straight running for IC boats - Steamboat Phil.

Mr Welsh Druid (Don) Could we ask you to do a video again this year? Last years was brilliant! - http://www.durnfords.co.uk/Model%20Mayhem.wmv

Does anyone in the Wicksteed area know if we can get a G3 mobile phone signal.... we would like to setup a live webcam / webcast this year!

Any other ideas?

a lot of places dont permit IC, you cant even run them on the canal network, yet narrowboats are diesel engine,

go figure  ??? ???

It may be the strict 4 or 5 mph speed limit that stops them.

I'll double check but I think Wicksteed are more worried about fast boats as opposed to noisy boats.  :)

thing with wicksteed, its a comfined lake, and there isnt really much room to open up a big speed boat, and if things go wrong, there inst soft bank to go up and absorb the impact, NO, try a concrete edge, boat will go SPLAT!

on grounds of health and safety they'll probably say NO

Ha, nothing wrong with electric straight runners (i'll bring a couple to give everyone a go) IC if quite should be ok (hummm--I'll bring one anyway) Speed, big hummmm, my steam straigh runner does 12mph on a good day (and 18 on a bad) Should be fun and raise a few eyebrows (not mine though I keep burning them off !!)

Hello,

A VERY important question for me is - - - -  how deep is the water in the Lake ???.
My schooner needs 26 inches of water to sail in, I have been looking at photos of folk in the water last year with waders on, but still not sure of the depth.
Anybody know for sure ?, does the water level go up or down with the weather ?.
If the water is too shallow for the schooner a One Metre will have to do !!!.

John.  :-\

Never mind John - bring the schooner to the Llanberis Meeting at the end of August. There's certainly more than enough depth there !!

And LOTS of room to sail a BIG boat on the main lake.

that would look great, big boat, big lake, and the blue nose is a boat to behold on a wide expance of a lake.

Last year the park supplied a large gazzebo and tables, not sure what is happening this year. If you have enough room in you car why not bring it any way?
