They're a bit like Marmite.... you luv em or hate em!. Personally I luv em but only after I was forced to interface with the one my 'bird' (now wife) owned. Blew it up on the M! It shed a piston crown and the remains of the piston and connecting rod made sure the engine was ent to its final resting place by hammering the remains into the cylinder head. We also owned a VW 411 le, that was an amazing machine and had a fuel injected boxer engine of 1750cc. Virtually indestructible engine,it went like a bomb. You could have the engine out, change the clutch and have the whole lot back in and running in an hour and a half!

We found this one lurking in the street adjacent to the EMBC regatta yesterday. A bit different - but is there room for the boats too?

I've got a 1973 Beetle, but it's in bits thanks to a thieving useless incompetent mechanic who "xxxxx" it up. My other car is a Type 2 though:

which gives me grief from time to time (read my Blog to see about this !) but at least you can get boats inside it !
