What to build next
« on: March 20, 2008, 06:48:29 pm »

In a bit of a quandry, so i thought i would get some feedback.
want to build yet another boat. do not have the patience for the amount of scratch building i used to do so want to build somethin simple(ish). Also something scale and fast. while searching around i came across the american "Pibber".
Meets some of my requirements. Small, fast, simple(ish) Also military colours, alot easier than Gloss.
Tamyia do a 1/35th, picking that up tomorow. that will give me all the extra detail i need.
So, now i have three choices.
option 1.
Deans do one at 1/24th. trouble is i do want to keep as close to scale as possible, and propellor drive is not scale. Found 2 jet drives.
Graupner and Kehrer. i am sure that both will give me the get up and go, but dont know either will fit.
option 2.
Kehrer do one at 1/12th. pretty sure this will work as they have designed and run it.
both of the above give me scope to add my own extrra detail
option 3.
build my own. had enough of experimental builds. plus at the end of the day, doubt it will work out any cheaper. will certainly be messy build. fed up with that.
SO, over to you. what do you reckon?
cheers

Hi Colin

Draw yourself a decision table. List essentials first, then list desirables in order of preference. Options across the top. Any option fails the essentials its out (that's 3 gone). By weighting the desirables (10 points for most desirable, 9 points next etc) you can score the options if all the essentials are met. Highest score wins.

Or go with what you really want to do and to hell with it.  ;D
