Title: My first builds
Post by: bluesy on April 11, 2006, 09:23:21 pm
Hello all.....

Upon retirement my good wife and I (mainly her) decided I needed a hobby to keep out of her hair.  I tried RC cars and trucks but soon realized that the enjoyment for me was in the bulding not the running.  Trying to keep up with lads 30-50 years my junior was too frustrating so I happened upon model boating.  Living on an island there is plenty of water around to satisfy anyone.  So here are three boats I have built thus far.

The Dumas "Carol Moran" renamed "NeysaBlue".  A Billing Boat "White Star" renamed "Loganberry" after our granddaughter. A Graupner "KrabbenKutter" renamed "PoppaG"  after a good friend who passed recently due to a loosing battle with leukemia.

I'm currently working on my first "all wood" boat a Billing Boat "Boulogne Etaples".  Quite a challenge compared to plastic hulled boats.

Very nice work indeed, you have a nice variety of models. Are you working on anything at the moment?
