Either a sail training ship or something that escaped from Beale Park last weekend.

It must have been a flaming big something Colin as it was just an indistinct smudge on the horizon using the naked eye.
At one stage thought it might have been you come to check up on me as I hadn't been on the forum for a while. ;)

Could be the Lord Nelson, the hull shape looks similiar to her, not too many modern 3 masted barques about.

Now the French are building a frigate - L'Hermione at Rochefort. That could be a sight to see coming over the horizon.
I hope it will pay a visit to Britain before it sails to America.

Nahh Banjo ya got it wrong! The French and the Italians always build their ships with reversing lights ! {-)
