Hi Regiment
I am no expert, but I can think of 2 solutions.
1/
Ramp stays up permanently and is an integral part of the hull. A mock ramp.
2/
The hull is designed to float with the ramp down. For this the bottom of the hull and the 2 side are separate sealed units that provide flotation. Thsi could also be achieved using 3 slabs of the blue insulating foam.
Ballasting would need to be cleverly thought out.

regiment,
If you use silicone sleeving around the door aperture this will pinch together when the ramp door is up and provide a watertight seal.

:)
You can have a ballast tank right fwd and before you "beach" you fill it; then having discharged your cargo you pump it out; this way you won't get stuck...
The bottom hinge would be above the waterline with the forepeak empty....
Just a thought..

I placed a bead of clear silicone caulking around the opening of the ramp, then placed a piece of wax paper
over it, and closed the ramp. When it was cured, the ramp had a custom fitted seal.
On it's sea trials, I had two kids run back and forth to kick up as big a sea as they could and drove
through the maelstrom several times. For the entire day, I had, perhaps, a tablespoon full of water in the hull.

In real life small landing craft have rubber seals on thier ramps and the sides and bottom are sealed ballast tanks kept empty and the vessel never loads with the work deck near or below the water.
