It belongs to a very old Gentleman, its scratch built, vintage late 1940s early 50s.
I will get some more details on Sunday morning.

It was hot this afternoon and he wasn't very forthcoming.....

What the picture cannot tell is that the Radar rotates, driven by that shaft that angles back, the searchlight flashes some message and of course the nav lights work.

I just had a second look at the pics and there is such detail it almost looks as though it is real. Truly a craftsman who loves his work. Would love to hear some more info. O0

I must agree with that..
It has been a live project from the out set....
When you think about it...there wasn't the radio gear available in those days.. so it has been re worked over the years..

notwithstanding the hows and whens..the result is pretty good...

Hi banjo........just aquired a set of plans at 1/12 for one of those along with a set of fittings..........dammed thing is huge ! :D.......When i start it , if it turns out half as good as that one i shall be a very happy bunny O0

Hi peter.........certainly was........the fittings are really good quality..........it even came with the 1958 modelmaker magazine with the origional article and free plan .. the magazine looks like it just came off the shelf in the shop....

Hi Bob I saw it and thought MMMMMMMM that looks nice I have fancied building one for some time and have a plan somewhere and the fittings would make for a easeyer build (getting Lazy) then I thought about the size and mover my finger from the bid now.looking forward to see the build.

Hi peter.......made the man an offer after it didn't reach its reserve.........it is HUGE !.....due to other commitments on the bench and starting a new job , i will probably not start on it for a while , its got acres of room in it , so i've got to find out how many of actions electronic gizmo's i can fit in it , ( read that as can afford or slip under swmbo's radar)  O0
