Title: What size of boat for action man figure

What would the size of boat be if I used an action man figure.  The boat in question is the Orca (Jaws).

I would like to make this boat as it looks quite good but how do I size the boat to the figure to make it look somewhat realistic.

If you could please advise roughly how long, wide and what height the boat would be ?

If someone could please help with this, the engine I am going to use would be a petrol engine, Zenoah G26 PUM.

It is just for a bit of fun, any help would be much appreciated, places to look or pics to see

The Action Man doll is 11" that means approx 1/6th scale or 2" to the 1'
That's going to be a big boat.

Yes at 1/6th scale it will be a large boat!!  Take up weight lifting and body building to get the thing into the water!  ;)

Hi Mike

Thanks or putting me onto your web page.  Very impessed with the size and quality of your build.  Got a few tips and ideas from your pics regarding how to make rivets (an easy way) aerials and lights.  Like i said looks great.  Once again many thanks for pics and ideas.   O0

From secondary sources I reckon a 1:6 Orca is about 80" long (if Orca was roughly 40' long).. that's a big boat to build and to handle in and out of the water.

With selective compression you could probably get away shaving a bit off the scale length to produce a caricature of Orca, retaining the essential elements but fiddling with the proportions.

One trick I've seen employed with model railways is to model a model.. so in your case use a 1:12th scale Orca (c. 40" long) to represent a 1/2-size replica of the original.. you then include in the model the neccessary modifications that would be required in the scale replica.  This gives you the best of both worlds.. a "full-size" boat for the action man sized figure, and a reasonably realistic stand-off outline on the water.
