Title: Rivet joint details
Post by: Alastair_I on June 24, 2008, 06:48:30 pm
Can anyone direct me to an online source of information on the various types of rivet joint in ship construction?  I'm looking for detailing for a freelance model in the early design stages. From photographs I can see various designs of rivet application, but it's usually not clear why a certain pattern is used (for example a common pattern I've seen with two rows of rivets on one side of the joint and a single row on the other).

Many thanks,  Al
