Hi...
What would be a good brushless motor replacement for a Graupner Speed 700BB Turbo 12v running on 16 cells... It's currently in a Monaco 100. The model weighs 4Kg and although the current set-up is good I would like to replace the brushed motor with something more efficient.
Thanks

hi paul ,have a look at over-tec.overlander technologies
the thumper range go from 400watts out put to6,500watts
i have used the thumper 4250.wich is 720watts power out put,kv600 (not far of 1hp each motor)
96% efficient (lot more efficient that your 700bb
length70mm,diameter42.5,axle length20mm,shaft diameter 5mm
runs well on 12v or24v
www.overlander.co.uk.
i have some video of my boat running on thumper

this is a good chinese slave factory to buy brushless motors, escs, and lipos. unitedhobbies.com they sell rc airplane motors, but you might find one that suits your needs if you know what power, kv rating, etc you need. i bought from the three times and each time recieved items within three weeks. some prices are 1/2 what you'd pay on ebay, some are kinda high and some of the escs might be bad. but you'll like it if you know what you are looking for.
all the best,

I will back up what debssnal says, I've bought a brushless speed controller from there in the past. I'll admit it was faulty at first but that was not their fault and they happily replaced it with new. They also have a good range of brushless motors which not many other places have in the uk.
