Me again, Just thought I'd try and pick your brains a little.
I'm after any info on the Q gun structure on Hardy the H
class leader lost at Narvik I've got the J English book A to I
but that doesn't really help. So I guess it's over to you please.
Cheers

I think Fleetscale do a plan to go with their hull: http://www.fleetscale.co.uk/pages/hullkits/hardy/hardy72.htm

Thanks Colin unfortunately it's the usual plan and profile which doesn't
help i.e. it's not so much the top but the under side of Q position I need
help with. But thanks for the quick reply anyway.

Without looking into it in more detail I would imagine that it is similar to the B gun position. i.e. a "dished" supporting deck with reinforcing angles on the underside to act as a blast screen. The central portion would need to be solid to absorb the stresses caused by firing the gun.

I'll look into what you've said Colin it makes sense! I guess I could
try the NMM but after there quote for Belfast plans I'm not so sure.

I've found the following pictures of Codrington and Hardy which tend to support my assumption.

Cheers Col and once again thanks for the quick reply.

It's what Mayhem's for!

I have Dave Sambrooks plan of HARDY , if you need I could scan any section? johnrhaynes,[email protected] these structures were generally for the main engine vent dischage louvres which discharged on all four sides and similar to the Ashanti model layout I built at the beginning of the year.

Thanks for the reply John, Having hunted again I've also found a set of
Sambrook plans for Hardy ie the second set that came with the hull not
just the plan and profile I already had?
Cheers
Colin
P.S. I have a look at your Tribal build for some pointers.

If the plans/photos still do not show the detail of this structure I may be able to give you more guidance . So if you need , contact me on---- [email protected] and I will make a sketch of the part and scan it to you .
