Title: The real Envoys?

Hello, I'm building an Envoy tug (civilian version)  over here in the States... has anyone found the correct home harbors for Englishman and/or Enforcer? Would like to put the right name on the back...

I'm afraid I can't help with the port of registry, maybe it's worth asking Model Slipway, but I have collected one or two pictures from the internet.

The little bit of history in MS's instructions don't mention United Towing... which tug was that?

The Englishman was indeed registered in Hull (Yorkshire). Built in 1944 by Cochranes of Selby as the Enchanter. Sold out of service in 1967. :)

The Englishman    Ex   "Enchanter" No W 178 was an Envoy class tug purchased by United Towing Co Ltd Hull Yorkshire England.
 She was purchased on 27/o7/1947 and re sold to Supreme Cia Nav S A Portugal in 1962 and renamed Cintra, again sold on to  Tsavliris Ltd Piraeus Greece and renamed Nisos Skiathos.

She lasted until 1972 when she was sold for scrap.

 It is a common mistake that is made nowadays to call the ENGLISHMAN the ENVOY but this is not correct the ENVOY was the name ship of the class and it was in fact the ENCHANTER  which became the ENGLISHMAN

I don't know whether it's still in print as I bought my copy in Hull some time ago.

The "Enforcer" in June 1947 under C in C Portsmouth. 1949 civilian manned under RFA conditions. 26/1/1950 transferred to Rosyth for seagoing duties. 1963 sold to Jas White & Co Ltd, St Davids Harbour.
The RFA tugs which were loosely part of the RFA proper in thier last years had all thier tugs registered in London.

I forgot to mention that RFA tugs were painted black hulls and light grey upperworks as where a large number of Admiralty sea going civilian manned auxilliaries.
