Title: Thames Tug - Cullamix
Post by: BlueWotsit on October 29, 2008, 11:01:32 am
My friend has just inherited a Thames Tug fitted with a Bassett Lowke eclipse engine linked to a Stuart Turner live steam boiler. (there was a label stuck inside giving this information)

He's asked for my help in valuing and possibly selling.

Knowing absolutely nothing about steamers, I thought it best to ask here for advice, comments etc etc. I would hazard that it possibly hasnt been used for a few years, although the cogs etc turn freely by hand.

The tug is appx 30 inches in length.

Can't help with the boat but it may have been built from the Model Maker (now Model Boats) Plan No: MM/256 although the length quoted in the Plans Handbook is 39.5 inches, beam 10 inches.
