Title: Making figures
Post by: AlanP on November 21, 2008, 07:36:15 pm
I have been having a go at making figures using Jovi modeling paste (air drying) but found it a bit grainy and reluctant for one bit to stick to another, and after it had dried overnight small cracks appeared.  :((
What sort of modeling medium do other modelers use?

Maybe a good job he cracked as he was some real ugly fellow  {-)

I use milliput fine white epoxy putty for figures, then make silicon rubber moulds and cast them in either white metal of resin

Going to Skipton tomorrow will see what they have there.

Do you guy's use a former made out of wire to start with, or just go at it with a big lump?

I would start with little lumps and sausages. No wire needed.
