Title: Larger fantail launch
Post by: inomac on January 13, 2009, 01:27:49 am
Hi every one, This is my first post on this forum, and from what Iv seen so far there's allot of great stuff here.
My question is about my next steam boat project, which will be my second one. My first is the Midwest fantail launch on the picture.
Now I'm looking for a larger fantail launch that I could fit a Puffin engine in. I don't want a large boat, may be something  like the
Krick Anna Steam Launch, but more involved.  Any help would be great.

Lovely launch, always nice to see another steam enthusiast join us.

As for your next project have a look through the Kingston Mouldings site, they do a large number of hulls to suit most tastes, many of which are suitable for steam applications.  They are only a hull and plans though so not quite as straightforward as a kit but very rewarding and superb quality.

welcome from London, a nicely built boat you have there, great to have another steam captain join.
Any particular reason for another fantail?

Nice boat! How long is it? Do you have a video of it running?

Hi,
The model looks great. What size is it? Would it go on a Cheddar Pintail? bill

  What a great reception!

Iv bin to the Kingston moldings site, nice stuff and it looks like a interesting challenge, im still reading the information available on the site.

I'm interested in a fantail for the size, I'm amusing there mostly small, mine is about 19 inches long.

I don't yet have a video on the web, but I was planing on making one this week.

Its the first time Iv heard of a pintail, its a interesting looking power plan! I'm glade you mentioned it. but it looks big for my fantail.
I was thinking of ordering a Hielscher Andreas which seems like it would fit.

Thanks all for the complements, and the warm welcome.

Just found this
http://www.bay-com.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=49
seriously expensive though, even at last year's $ rates.

You can get the plans for the full size launch

What about Vic Smeed's River Queen or River Princess?
