Title: Tug questions?
Post by: ixion on March 22, 2009, 05:25:25 pm
Hi,
Would a modern UK tug have imperial or metric hull depth markings? Also would a tug be flying a flag, union jack or Red ensign?
Thanks

Dan,

Why are you not allowed to fly your countries flag on a small boat,
I thought anyone would be able to...........

Over here we can fly whatever flag we want to..........

There are international conventions governing what flags may be flown and when. Breaking these is considered to be at best bad manners and in many instances it will be illegal. Just try flying a White Ensign when you pass a Royal Navy warship!
