Title: What is this engine?

Hi, can anybody identify this please? It came out of America a couple of years ago off Ebay. It was assembled but came with a photocopy of instuctions on how to assemble it so must have been a kit at some stage. There is no makers name on it or the instuctions. It is a double acting V Twin oscillator. The stroke is 3/4" and I am told the bore is 1/2" but have not checked. The shaft sizes are imperial so I am presuming it is British or American. Any clues welcome. Thanks, Ian.
