Title: Fleet to Futaba Wiring.
Post by: rob on June 10, 2009, 01:21:24 pm
Quick question for the experts,

I have an old boat with Fleet servo and ESC fitted. good condition, but they obviously need Futaba plugs fitting to suit my new RC gear.

So Red / White /  Black of Fleet lead to which ones on Futaba lead ?  Your opinions gratefully accepted.

regards
Rob

You'll find that the Fleet cabling has the Red and Black wires reversed from that used by Futaba, HiTec, JR etc. SO Red wire +ve from Fleet ESC goes to the centre connection of Futaba plug; White (Signal) goes to the side of the plug which has the moulded web; take your pick where you put the Black -ve one..............but there's only one hole left  ;)
Works for me.

Have you fitted your futaba plugs yet and tried the system as if my memory serves me you may find that the travel and centering are not as expected.  I no that modern radio's like futaba use 1.5ms centering but the old fleet used 1.2ms I believe which may cause a problem.  if you are prepared to take both ESC and servo to bits both can be altered.  Best of luck hoping this may help.
