That is one masive machine  , and on the small scale it could retreve your heavy boats from the water without bending over  :-)) .

We have a similar marine railway in Ontario. Not nearly as big as the Russian job, but certainly just as interesting. Ours is on the Trent-Severn waterway system near Bala. Its the last lock before the canal/waterway enters Georgian Bay.
