Hi
I've currently got 3 Spektrum AR500 receivers which work brilliantly. I was looking on eBay to try to find another and can't, but I find several AR6100e's at a very attractive price.
Has anyone tried these - is the range OK for boats (scale) as the aerials seem quite short.

The AR6100 receivers are the ones l I use and have no range problems at all.

Thanks for the links. The AR6100's on eBay are £26.98 from China, including postage. Quite a saving on £40 or so for an AR500. I Think I'll give them a try.

I'll check out the shops in Canada when I go back in 13 days, but whose counting {-)

I can buy at just over £36 from Micron, or occasionally at £32 if they have ones removed from sets. If the AR6100 is as good, then its worth a try with one of the Chinese ones ok2
Anyway I have ordered one to see if it arrives OK.
Thanks for the inputs,

Hi Barrie,
If i understand right if you keep to the 500's you can just switch on and go but if you mix with 6100 you,ll have to rebind each time you change or maybe be someone will be able to comfirm that. Am going to try and keep to 500's and need another six when funds allow.
Regards, Sentry.

Sentry - yes that's true for the DX5e, not sure about the DX6i. I have both transmitters, and I am hoping that the 6i will remember the Receiver type with the model. If not I will use the 5e for AR500's and the 6i for AR6100's ;)
Micron are about as cheap as anyone for AR500's - especially if they have split any 5e sets, when the 500's go for just over £32. Their full price is competitive, and postage reasonable.

Arrived today - just 7 days since ordering. Nothing to pay on delivery ok2 Now to check if the DX6i will bind to two different types of Rx.

Now to check if the DX6i will bind to two different types of Rx.
Barrie
Yes it will ! It appears that the receiver type is stored in the model memory.

Most of the late model Spektrum will bind to the the different receivers available.
However, if you own a DX-6, it will only bind to the AR6100 receiver. This is because the
DX-6 is a DSM-1 transmitter, the DX-6i, and all the other Spektrum transmitters are now
DSM-2 which are backward compatable, and will have no problem running the AR6100. :-)

Umi - yes I knew it would bind to it, what I didn't know for certain was if I could have different receiver types in different models, and be able to use the Tx without re-binding every time I switched model. The DX6i does allow this, the DX5e doesn't.
