My son in law who lives in Balham (London) has suggested that the lake on Clapham Common might be a suitable place to sail if I take a model with me when I visit them.
Does anyone sail there or knows the situation re model boating on that lake ?

Thanks for that - I had already looked at the site but it only tells me that they RACE yachts on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in the month.
I dont race but do enjoy other forms of sailing both yachts and other models. Information re this is what I want - preferably from someone who sails there .

I used to live in Abbeville Road, Clapham, and used to go to the ponds on the common, and can tell you that the guys who fished there, were none too happy about power boats being sailed,"frightened fish and all that"i would have thought a hook in the fish,s mouth would be more frightening, mind you that was 30 odd years ago, perhaps the fishermen are a bit more mellow now,but i would,nt hold my breath,
