Colwick Park in Nottingham (one of two ponds NMBC use) was today the venue for some different floating models. I only had my work camera with me so excuse the quality.

More pics to follow if anyone is interested and for anyone in the area they are flying tomorrow.

I'd be interested if it's not too much bother. I've always wanted a go but there's nowhere near me that'll allow me to fly off a lake {:-{
-
I can't see clearly, but is that a Short Sunderland in the first pic?
Always a favourite of mine.

Certainly look s it to me , I like that one as well , I have the Airfix kit to build at some stage..

And more

And yet more.

This one on its own, 95% made of polystyrene with li-po battery and gear box to prop. Light as a feather and flew really well the guy was doing aerobatics with it.

Larry

Yes Larry, from what I gathered yesterday the chaps will travel anywhere to get a flight. As you can imagine it must be difficult to find a spot that combines a lake big enough for a safe takeoff, a park large enough for safe flying and the ability to use IC.
I was told that this venue is one of their favourites as it combines all three with good, safe camping facilities. I believe they are allowed to use the lake by Notts Council 3 times a year March. July & Sept.

Can also be found at Billing lakes (Northampton) the !st Sunday of each month :-))

That Eindecker with floats sure is one big Fokker. But the kingpost and associated rigging appear to be missing - why don't the wings fall off?
-
Tobyker
{-)Super glue and elastic bands {-) {-) {-)
Freebooter

The "eindecker" is a non-scale "Hannibal", a bigger version of a kit by Flair called "Magnatilla". There was this one at the 26th annual Loch Insh Highland Splash-in last weekend . The third picture shows Alistair Sutherland`s gas turbine powered model, fast ! The Range Safety Boat was by Bill Terry , there was also a couple of Springers there too. There is seven waterplane events in Scotland each year.

I should have mentioned the sunsets seen from the Boathouse Bar.
