I have dredged up these photos from my slide collection using my newly acquired slide scanner. The quality is a bit dodgy at times, as some of the slides have some sort of a fungal growth on them, possibly caused by humidity, but judicious use of the clone stamp in Photoshop has managed to remove most of it.
The 3 shots of the Arcadia leaving Sydney in 1968 were taken by me, as my parents were on board heading for the UK. The other photos were taken by my late father.

Those old liners certainly had "presence". During my nautical perambulations I suppose I saw most of them....and still reckon that "Orsova" was the most impressive. But that's just my opinion. BY.

If that was 1968, then i could well have been aboard Oriana......... seems like such a long time ago !
