One 2.4G Transmitter and receiver plus another receiver and postage, a midge over £40. from Giant Cod.
Half expected it to go up in a puff of smoke when I tried it :} but both receivers bind with the tx with no problems, they are both installed in boats now ready for a trial on Sunday, weather permitting.
Anyone else get this from Giant cod?

Ah, missed that thread Martin, so much to do and so little time %% So it looks as though it isn't going to go up in smoke.
I'm really chuffed now :-))

You might see in the review on GC that there was a concern about harsh trims - what was yours like?

Hi Dodgy Geezer tried my set out on Sunday, one receiver in a brushless motor boat and the other in a brushed boat, range was good and there was no problems, well I did hit the bank full pelt with one but that was put down to driver error, the trim on the set seems to be no better or no worse than my 40Mhz sets but not as good as my Futaba 6EX.
All in all I was pretty chuffed with it O0

They're certainly cheap, but the trim is poor and the quality control must be suspect. However, if you want a set at a rock-bottom price these are for you. Of course, you must allow another £5 for postage, so we're talking about £30 at the door.
Down my local model shop I was talking about them, when the owner showed me his latest cheap set. A Planet 2.4 ghz, with a small LCD screen, 5 functions, quality trim and feel, and nicely boxed, at £40. I found an ebay picture of one here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Radio-Control-Set-Planel-T5-2.4GHz-5-channel-2.4ghz_W0QQitemZ330368639145QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxq20091025?IMSfp=TL091025119001r22637
I reckon we will see a bit of competition coming. To my mind, an extra £10 for the better quality, LCD and extra function is quite attractive....

Ordered my set yesterday around lunchtime, and it arrived today, :-)) tested and fitted in just a few minutes. Ok so the trim isn't fantastic, but at that price I'm certainly not complaining. Best 29.00 I've spent for a while. %%

From what i can gather from the ebay auction mentioned above, the LCD display is just a battery status display.
Does anybody know if there is a, (fairly), cheap 2.4 set with proper rates, ATVs and sub trim adjustments?
I am keen to go 2.4G but want a proper usable adjustments with an LCD.
