met the local painter lastweek telling him fed up with the weather the paint is taken to long to dry he came round today i was out he left some liquid to put into the paint .. paint was dry in an hour he never told the wife what it was anybody any clues thanks

Hi Regiment,
I used to use terrabine driers, the stuff i used was purple in colour this may be the product he used.
It was used to accelerate the drying time for oil based paints, or rejuvenate old oil paints that would stay tacky.
If you have a good Decorators merchants near you they will sell it, if not they will point you in the right direction from where you can get some.

On the point of paint any tips on how spray paint ( cans ) and not get misting I have one smallish bit to do to finish
and just cannot stop it misting at this time of year.
warmed the shed, warmed the can, sprayed it in the shed run indoors with it to dry not appreciated by her in doors.

Hi MCAT,
for paints, go to your local auto body paints supplier.
get your paints with plactisiser added. Thousands of colours to choose from the auotomotive industry.
Also purchase clear top coat spray can.
The colour cans are known as , touch up, paints.
Temperature is about what you would expect from any auto spraying, the little cans are easy to work with and the paint dries really fast.
I use these spray cans in my business now. Never had a failure.
