I'm not sure about members who work at sea but quite a few of us are ex saltwater workers
ranging from RN, RMAS,Merchant Service, Fishing, Ferries, ORSV's
You name a vessel type and someone will pop up with a story of mayhem at sea!
WoW  I forgot to mention RFA's  Being ex RN we loved those guys because they always brought the beer!
Not bought only brought!
Best to ask specific questions and soeone will be sure to be able to help
There is a wealth of knowledge out there

Yours Aye

Expect Bobs broke one. Hear he's going to Lymington to sort that lot out, once he's sorted Pompey's football team out.. {-)

I work on Red Funnel, but might be looking at Wightlink.
After beating Liverpool 2-0, don't think they need me to sort them out.
Jealousy must be a terrible emotion though!!
I wouldn't know as a Pompey Supporter.

Do you think there would be any interest in starting a thread to see what members do or did for a living, may be interesting to see how members fund their passion for model boats or any hobby for that matter.

I do apoligise if this has been done before.

Sadly not, my ship is away for a couple of days and the ferries only give free rides to family and I have to be there for that.

I spent 23 years on the Grey Funnel Line wondering about that!
But five years of that were on inshore survey ships where
the main man took us through gale eights on a 54 ton wooden
plank on frame model and we knew were in the best hands
My skipper on HMS Woodlark became Hydrographer of the
Navy Not many UK ships have fools on the Bridge
