Hi Mat its probably an age thing but those bows dont appear to be the same as on my Al Khubar
Yours appears to have a bit of a flared bow whilst mine doesn't or is it an optical illusion

CEN 900? I can't find any reference to that motor anywhere. MMB900 details are on either MMB's website or our own (See ACTion at the top of the Forum Home page).

Mat
I find it good work with
What problems are you having?
-
Yes what problems apart from the expence. My balsa I have had in stock for 40 years still got stikers on 19p,24p,35p. Hammer.
-
its just realy brittle i keep snapping it on curves or even just being a bit heavy handed
the last few boats had obechi i think and i just got on better with it

Yes Mat I must agree it is not much good for a finishing layer. Methods I have used, are to use thicker balsa in small strips rub down to get a perfect shape. Then cover with with a second layer of 1.5 mm ply as scale planks or cider can plates, depending on the prototype. With two layers I have never had leaks touch wood. Except when I had a ply center plate box split. and the boat sank. I have also used 1/16" balsa soaked in water this bent OK. I then coated it with resin, worked well if a bit rough, but that is what I wanted. this was on a west country trading schooner and there hulls where rough. Hammer
