Well i had to make one as i had a couple of spare drives that came with the big drives i bought recently.
So here it is not quite springer size but its the right shape , running of a 540 race motor (out of a rc car ,scuby) and a 7.2 battery pack . I have almost 190 deg of turn on the drive output and full length pushing knees which may act as forward fixed rudders and add a bit of stabillity . Yet to have a water test but if it needs more ballast there is plenty of room inside for a battery ,keep the weight down below.
Some old xmas lights have been salvaged for the sides and to add a bit of colour i have used blue ones at the front, i thought they were led's which is what it said on the box but they are gow's . More to do but lets get it's bottom wet first.

Ok i found the tape,
it's not exactly springer sise 21.5 x 9.5 inches :D
but then again it's not exactly correct with the propulsion .
Still waiting to wet it's bottom O0 but i have some more pics of the gut's.

Oh the power lead over the prop shaft and the arial lead wont be there when its running .

That's the ones John , i aquired three of them (one for spares) with a pair of the big drives.
I am looking for another one sometime as i fancy having a go at a rotor tug .

Well she had her first water test this aft , setting the scene , the water was calm and little moved apart from a pair of Victoria yachts and a tug . the power was switched on and she was gently lowered into the water (lid off to check for water cant be to carefull) and the battery shuffled to get the waterline right .
A gentle twitch of the rudder , yep that works , and the throttle was eased forwards , and she was off . Whoever said that the drive looked a little small ,ha ha this thing dug her bottom in and flew in the direction you pointed her in , and that meant any direction . With the kort having over 90deg each way from center she would spin on the spot in either forwards or reverse , talk about a regatta boat .
Right now the bad stuff as the schottel was second hand there is a bit of play and give it too much and the top cog will lift off the drive and slip , so a little bit of tinkering is in order for the next run , you should try one its wicked .

It looks small compared to the drives in WW... %)
Sounds very maneuverable though... any pic's from the first run?..
