All went acording to plan, except the range was rather short, I'll have to look at where the aerials are.

2.5kgs of lead in there......

Not happy with my net ponds they might have to be remade.

Just had a hour to spare and the weather looks worse later in the week so I went for a sail.

( the spots on the bow pic are water, not bad paint !!!)

I eventually built them on a .75 plasticard base rather than on the hatch and as Richard suggested, putting the stiffeners on the sides before fitting the ends. I didnt like the moulded ends much and did think about making my own by bending plisticard around a dowel in very hot water.

I'm trying to find a better picture of how the otter(?) boards hang before attaching them.

I find these details a bit vague in the instruction book !

When I found how good the airbrush finish is I scraped off the brush painting from the net hauler and started again.

Post by: AlanP on January 25, 2010, 06:15:58 pm: I used a copper strand taken out of a piece of cable (the big stuff that goes into your electrical meter) it measured about 1.6 mm and as Richard suggested made two "U" shapes and soldered together. The strands can be strightened useing a vice and pliers.

Post by: DickyD on January 25, 2010, 08:49:38 pm: The fish pools were fairly easy. I used a nozzle of a mastic gun to bend the brass wire to right diameter. Did it in 2 U shapes and soldered them together before supa gluing to tops of pools.

Thanks for the links, they still don' t show how the ropes run to the boards etc. There don't seem to be any books that explain how the nets etc are rigged. The diagrams I've seen just show a rope from the boat to the net, via the boards.
This the best I've found so far....
