Title: aside from boat modelling
Post by: uboatbuilder on February 04, 2010, 11:39:25 am
since starting my nimitz it has rekindled my first love of military aircraft and so these are to blame for diverting my attention away from boats for a while. that, and the fact ive discovered the joys of a badger air brush over an Aztec. sorry about the bad lighting there isnt much natural light about at the moment >:-o but i find its still better than artificial light.

Very nicely painted aircraft Grant, and nice weathering too! Glad you've gone onto a Badger, far better build quality and easier to find replacement parts should you even need to.

I've nearly finished my latest addition to the collection, and yes...you'd be right in calling this one a tug, as it is!!! lol.

See you at the lake sometime  ok2

Hi uboatbuilder

Some fantastic detailed modelling, I really like the BF109, very very nice.

I've built a few 1/32 and 1/48 Helis, nothing worth photographing though, just good enough to hang in my sons room, I too have an Airfix Apache half built.

I still mostly hand paint plastic kits, I do have single action airbrush I rarely use it though unless I need to do a largeish area, even then spray cans are usually more convenient.

I've been thinking about a decent, (ish), dual action airbrush for a while, you mentioned Badger, would you have any advice on what model airbrush would be OK for me?

All the best
  Neil

thanks guys, just finished a couple of others so i may add them too (tamiya p51 mustang & another 109), i have two badgers a 150 dual action and a 200 single action with gravity fed cup for very fine stuff, for example the misting/dappling on german warbirds. i wouldnt use anything else now i have these two. you cant really go wrong with them.

A shop I know is having a mass clear out of the Badger Airbrush range and I picked up a Badger Crasendo Airbrush for £50 which normally retails for almost £80!!!
Other models reduced are:

Badger 200 (single action) for only £50!!!
Badger 150 (double action wooden box set)
Airbrush Compressor reduced from £220 to £109
Badger battery operated paint mixer reduced from £12.99 to £8.99

They are stupidly moving over to the Aztek range...DOH!!!

If anyone wants any info then drop me a PM.

Hi Peter

That was the only one I didn't check on as I've already got two.
I'll give them a ring tomorrow and get back to you!

I'm down at the moment but tied up with commitments for two to three weeks!
I'm desperate to get my mini-tug fitted with electrics, once that's done i'll take a trip up there to Black Park for her maiden voyage.

I'll let you know when I'm gonna be going, ok!
