Can anyone help, please. I am trying to get hold of one of these yacht hulls (or a completed boat if the price is right). Apparently the designer/builder died some time ago and the plug/mould were, unfortunately, destroyed. They are still advertised on the Mastman website and he is trying to find one for me but I thought a Mayhemmer might know of one somewhere. I know that there are 'similar' hulls available but I would like one of these.
Any help much appreciated.
(See below).

Plans for the mast rigging and sail plan, members of the B.M.B.C have developed these hulls in a variety of formats each with excellent sailing characteristics.

Many thanks U33 and netleyned. I think I have done all the internet searches possible without any success :(( and was just hoping that it would jog a Mayhemmer's memory and one might come to light in a loft or somewhere similar. :-) (a boat, that is - not a Mayhemmer or his memory ;D {-))

My Moonbeam's still up for grabs ok2

Thanks, Phil. I know the Moonbeam well as I used to belong to the same club (Hertford) as Dave Metcalf (Metcalf Mouldings) but I really want the Ranger 48, if I can find one. I know that the Moonbeam is a lovely boat that sails well and I would have thought that someone would have jumped at yours. :-)) :-)

I'm not sure if this helps but where I come from there is a model sailing club dedicated to the J class yachts... http://www.canterbury-j-class.org.nz/cja%20index.htm (http://www.canterbury-j-class.org.nz/cja%20index.htm) They may be able to shed some light on availability of plans or molds... even if it is a few thousand km away! I know that Sparkman and Stevens, the original designers or the Ranger wanted $80USD for a lines drawing about 2 years ago...

Thanks, Andy. I did not really want to start from scratch and was hoping to get hold of a hull. Can't understand why this model disappeared. :(( :((
