Hi all I'm after a bit of info regarding HMS Delhi or rather building her. I know Dean's make a Curacoa hull
and my question is how hard is it to convert Curacoa to make a Delhi hull? Any help or advice please..

Although the D class cruisers were based on the C class they were actually an extra 20 feet longer to work in an extra 6 inch gun, so I think you would have problems using the Curacoa hull for your build.

Why Delhi, as a matter of interest? Do you plan to do her with the American 5" guns and turrets?

Yes if I can make the hull work I was planing on making her with US guns and directors ect..

Thinking about this as I really like these C and D class cruisers, and they seem so rarely to be modelled. The Ds were indeed 20ft longer and also 3ft more in the beam. 3ft, however, is only 3/8" at 1/96. So unless you are after absolute accuracy you could overlook that.
How about asking Deans to lay up an extra section in the centre of the mould, and then inserting the extra 2,5" in the hull? You might even persuade them to lay up separate bow and stern sections with a suitable overlap, though that is probably pushing your luck!

If it were me doing the build, I would think about cutting the "C" class Hull in Half and adding a section mid ships to get the correct length I've done this with other models and its fairly straight forward. :-))
