Can anyone please help with instructions for connecting a HITEC HS805BB servo that I have just recently bought on the net. It has a Y lead with it but no instructions, and I am bothered about damageing my Futaba receiver (on BEC) if I make the wrong connection using a 6volt separate power source. Do I have to clip a red wire?

Is the Y lead part of the servo or an add on / plug in?

Hello Firpark, just noticed your post and although I can't add advise in anyway (complete novice!) this link may help, also There was a comment posted on Kiwi shopping (on the net) that stated a y lead should / could not be used with this servo as it draws too much current. I wouldn't know but maybe this helps.
Regards, Tony.

Correct!
You remove(unpin) the red connection at the receiver so that the servo battery on the Y-lead does not feed power to/from the receiver and receiver battery.
If you don't use a separate battery you can potentially get low voltage glitches on the receiver supply.

Hi Tony
Thanks for your help, I will have a look on the Hitec web site.

Thanks for the help, do I then just connect a 6volt power supply on to the red and black of the other y lead?
Firpark
Correct!
You remove(unpin) the red connection at the receiver so that the servo battery on the Y-lead does not feed power to/from the receiver and receiver battery.
If you don't use a separate battery you can potentially get low voltage glitches on the receiver supply.

Yes.
What other Y-lead :}

Hi Martin
The Y lead is a plug in--The web site info was really useful thank you--it looks as if others have had similar questions.
Many thanks
firpark
