I'm trying to put together a boiler details database to enable us to complete steam tests on manufactured boilers. To help all those who no longer have the original manufacturers certification I would really appreciate it if anyone who owns a manufactured boiler and does posses the original manufacturers certificate if they could let me have the stated working pressure for it and possibly capacity if included. All I need is something along the lines of:
Hemmens Richmond boiler, Working Pressure-5.6 bar, capacity-500ml.
If the capacity isn't stated, which is usually the case, and you are able to fill the boiler with water and pour it out into a measuring jug I would be very grateful.
To keep the thread clear it may be better to PM me the figures.
Many thanks

Hi BB,
Have original Cheddar Puffin Vertical Boiler Certificate if you havn't got one already?

Not trying to argue the point BB but I really think you should give some creedance to the safety valve issue, as reading on another forum of someone "Tweaking" a standard Mamod unit.
Regards Ian.

Ian, I can't even remember what the original issue was now. Could you please either PM me or start a new thread on the subject to keep this thread for database information.
Thanks

BB,
I have a 3.5" by 6" horizontal Maccsteam
Design working pressure: 60 psi
Test Pressure: 120 psi
I will have to report back with the capacity.

Oops, I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know.

For what reason Colin, it would clear the air if nothing else. Mick B.

One problem with these old threads - pre meltdown is you can't be sure that the names next to the posts match up (they may on this one).
I appear everywhere as mkenzig, others appear as guest. It's a minefield really
People coming and going is just life, but nonetheless sad and especially so if they have ability or wit :} - At the moment I'm sad that Mike and Martin
have fallen out and that has led to Mike going. I don't want to know the why's of it as that might have me making stupid choices on which
(of two people I like) was right or wrong. Better to just hope those gone will return in time.
I have to say, though I know nothing of steam, the idea of good reliable databases seems an excellent resource for the future. Someone should do it O0
