You can use any speed controller with lipos providing you run the controller within it's specified voltage range.

I'd also recommend fitting a lipo guard so that you don' run your lipos beyond 3 volts per cell.

e.g. http://www.dimensionengineering.com/LipoShield.htm

Thanks for your advice. Another question, how do you charge them ie balance board??? And how do you solder the connector on?I didnt think lipos like heat

Cheers

Solder them? Are they made up into a pack or have you purchased loose cells? If you have a pack with some flyleads attached, just solder on a connector like any other kind of battery pack. I use Deans connectors, which I find are excellent and very easy to fit.

You should balance lipos, and you must use a charger designed for charging this type of battery. Lipos are unforgiving in this respect.

Lipos do have a tendancy to go pop dramatically if abused

So do most batteries. Use them within their specifications, use a correct charger, and keep the cells balanced and you should have no problems- been using li-pos for about seven years without complaint. Superb batteries

Please excuse me for jumping in on the topic but a newbie having no experience of Lipo's and re Subculture's point, how do you balance the cells or keep them balanced?

               Cheers, Tony.
