Has any one suggestions on the best engine choice for a Smit Rotterdam please.
I will be working off a 12volt system and the MFA geared motors sound good.
Thanks in advance for any help. :-))

Engine or electric motor?

My vote is with:
Mobile Marine Models T12, not cheep but great, quiet, powerful and Low current consumption, I've got 5 of them :-))

Hear Hear ;) All good gear + Great Service :-))

What diameter are the propellers on a Rotterdam, and what voltage is the electrical system?
Those t12 motors look like overkill.

I reckon a couple of the T4 motors on 12v would be just fine, and very much cheaper. Barry Foote runs these in his Lady Wooes (a slightly bigger model) and has no problems with them when coupled to a P94 Dual ESC. Alternatively, a pair of Mabuchi 555 (12v) for direct drive or MFA geared Torpedo 500. PM me for further info on the latter two if required.

Had no problem fitting 2X T12 and a 22Ah 12V battery in my MMM Lady Wooes %%
Better to have too much motor that one that overworked and gets hot I say.....
But I would go along with FLJ on the T4's, Give MMM a call to see what they say

Hi Stevo, Alternatively, you could use a 3 channel rig on a twin stick setup and educate your thumbs to achieve stylish handling/steering. :-))
