hi there all
Can someone answer my query. On the internet I have been reading about the Planet 5 handset - can anyone verify the operating voltage of the handset??? What I can make out - it may be running off 4 x AA dry-cell batteries which give a 6 volt output.
Is that correct?
Also can it be run on rechargables???
aye

hi john,
the planet 5 tx uses a four cell holder. i have seen them using duracells and also rechargables. not a lot of difference. duracells seem to last forever, one set at our club has been used on duracells since easter, used every week for about two hours a week. meter still reads 5.8v. plenty of life left.
hope this helps

HI Bluebird,
there is about 3 to 5 members using the plant 5 in my club and no one has trouble with
Rechargeables.
They do say that the tx with Duracell's will last 70hrs and i can well believe this as the members keep coming down the lake with the same batteries.
Hope this help
Best Regards

hi there
well I have lashed out and bought meself a Planet 5 2.4 from Cornwall Models and up to now, it's ticking all the boxes, I am really impressed. The only thing I am 'iffy' about is that the Receiver that comes with the transmitter (the plug pins stick out from the casing and they look a bit vulnerable) - so care must be taken with that I am thinking - no heavy handedness or they will become damaged.
Going to fit it into a tried and tested model - and see how it goes - give it a good try out on Sunday (weather permitting) .
aye
thanks for the replies lads.
