I followed the given link and from there to another one linking to this page (http://forum.modelka.com.ua/index.php?s=81926093401b513f180fae82e6026619&showtopic=21350).
The ship's name was in Latin though I was expecting Cyrillic, something like Ganseatik %). So it was easy to find.
There it reads that the scale of the model is 1:150 (Funny, in Russian/Ukrainian they use the German word Maßstab %%)
and its length (Dlina) 1337 mm and its beam (Vysota) 355 mm.
-
These people need to get a new english website, would open up new possibilities.
-
...and its length (Dlina) 1337 mm and its beam (Vysota) 355 mm.
I apologize for giving a wrong main particular. Vysota isn't beam/breadth but height.
It couldn't have been the beam considering a false L/B ratio of 3.76 for a transatlantic liner (this isn't a tug).
If one takes the correct beam of 25.5 m this would in 1:150 be 170 mm and hence the correct L/B of 7.86.
Btw. the HANSEATIC used to be the 1930 built EMPRESS of JAPAN as can be read in this Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Hanseatic_%281930%29) which also mentions the vessel's beam.
Yes, I agree. They should service an English page of their website.
-
What can i say, boatswainblack is there any chance you can have someone convert this all in english as i`m interested in 2 article`s they are "deutshland & von der tann.Lots questions eg: what scale, what size, price etc. Apart from that, what other boat kits do you do. Baloo
