Title: Decking thickness, underdeck & planking

Hi,
Somewhere I have read about putting deck planking for a yacht on a sheet of plywood, can anyone tell me what thickness the ply and the planking should be? The yacht is a 2 metre 'A' class that I want to turn into something scale, possibly like a 'J' class (although I am open to suggestions) also, how do you finish off the edge of the deck against the hull.

try a 2-3mm ply base then use planking material from here.

Planking is usualy 1mm thickness

Lime works better because it flex's to the contors better but its your choice.
To get the black lines between the planks on the base of each plant ( bottom side/glue side) run a black marker along the edge.

for a thin line only black mark one plank and butt to a clean plank..
for a thick black line mark both edges to butt together.

To finish the edge of the deck off use 1/4" obeche strips shaped and stained
