Title: Battery Charging Question
Post by: asimmd on July 31, 2010, 09:24:09 am
Hi All

On Tuesday of this week,I charged both my 6volt 4Ah Sealed Lead Acid's with the intention
of going to the lake.

Needless to say it rained all day so I didn't go.

Question is,how long will the batteries hold their charge before I need ot charge them again?

Thanks

Alan

If they are in good condition, weeks and weeks, but I would still recharge before use.  Just to be sure.

They will discharge slowly over time and, if left alone for several months, couldl go into deep-discharge and the plates will sulphate (=dead). I'd suggest topping them up every month. If you've only left them for a week then you'll be OK.
