Title: Disk and Belt Sander Question

Hi All,

In the absence of Machine Mart being open at this time of night to ask the question, can anyone advise if on disk and belt sander combo jobs can be independantly operated or does one button service both functions?

My disk/belt sander and several others I looked at before buying all run both functions with no way to separate them.  Mine is made by Grizzly.

Only one lecky motor in them, they were going to fit an electro-magnetic clutch biased to the belt part but couldn't get the price down to 5/- and 11  3/4d O0 :-))

Well I didn't manage to get down there in person so I did the next best thing. This is the model I have went for in the end! Looking forwards to putting it to good use over the weekend! (Please don't all tell me its rubbish at once!)

That looks the same as mine, only different badge. I'm sure there is a little factory in China that churns these (and other gear) out and just sticks whoevers badge on them on the way out the door !
The only problem I found was that it was a bit of a fiddle getting the plate off to renew the disc sheet

Got one of these myself only with a yellow and green paint job, quite fit for purpose with no bad habits, I think you will be pleased.

Just be very careful of your fingers around this machine.  I bought extra belts and disks for mine, in different grits.  I put the 220 (finest) grit on to try the sander, and found it removes a ton of material in a hurry off a scrap of 1/2" maple.  It will make short work of fingers if given the chance.   <:(

Indeed, was given modellers leave from household duties this afternoon and had a chance to set the machine up. Overall so far so good!  :-))
