Having just acquired a spectrum radio set, I find my servos wont fit in the rx, the sockets are slightly different. Is it just a case of cutting off the lip on the plug, or do I need new plugs all together?

I just cut the silly little tabs off all mine, just make sure the wires correspond the correct pins (should say on the side of the reciver, mine does)

+1 Plugs are either futaba type or JR type, one with tab one without. All my stuff gets detagged as and when needed. Just make sure you don't take too much off as it is easy to break through to the plug internal and weaken it. If that happens, it won't cause a problem as long as it's not being plugged and unplugged all the time.

The Spektrum Rx's I have are labelled with +, - and signal so you should get the plug the right way round. I've had to remove a lot of the tabs as well and you do have to watch you don't damage the plug as the plastic is quite soft.

Done as suggested, all working just fine, thanks

I also use an emery board to gently bevel the corners of the servo plugs I am plugging into my Spektrum receivers - after cutting off any uneccessary tabs. ok2
It makes it far easier to remove the plugs without any 'jiggling'...
